The Sanlam Cape Town Marathon is Africa's first Abbott World Marathon Major race, the eighth race to join the global series. This global city, fast-paced marathon is suited to a range of running enthusiasts from elite athletes to social runners.
The weekend extends past the road marathon, and we're proud to offer inclusive events for all, including the 10km and 5km Peace road runs as well as three incredible Table Mountain trail runs - 43km, 22km, and 11km.

All participants must meet the minimum age requirement by the date of the relevant event.
All Peace and Trail Runs: 22 May 2027
42.2km Marathon: 23 May 2027
Road Events Age Limits:
42.2km Marathon: 18 years
10km Peace Run: 14 years
5km Peace Run: 9 years
Trail Events Age Limits:
43km Cape Town Trail Marathon: 20 years
11km & 22km Cape Town Trail: 18 years
All 2027 entries, including Peace, Trail and Marathon entries, are non-transferable, and no substitutions are permitted.
With the exception of sponsored 2027 Marathon entries, a deferral window will open closer to race day for participants who are no longer able to take part, allowing eligible entries to be deferred to 2028. Sponsored 2027 Marathon entries cannot be deferred.
T-shirts are only included with entry for the 42.2km Road Marathon, 22km Cape Town Trail, and 43km Trail Marathon.
T-shirts are not included with entries for the 5km or 10km Peace Runs or the 11km Cape Town Trail.
T-shirt sizes are available on a first-come, first-served basis and depend on stock availability. Size changes can be made for a limited period only, while stocks last.
